Governance & Approvals

Approvals that can't be gamed

Every payment certificate, change order, invoice, RA bill and work order can flow through a policy-driven approval workflow with true separation of duties. The person who raises a request can never approve it, each approver gets one vote, and high-value items can require a quorum of two or more.

Separation of duties, enforced in software

Not policy on paper — controls the platform actually applies to every money and contract decision, with a record you can hand to an auditor or lender.

Maker-checker & quorum

Enforce "two sets of eyes" above any amount threshold you set. The person who raises a request can never approve it, each approver gets exactly one vote, and high-value items can require a quorum of two or more approvers before anything moves.

Immutable approval record

Each request snapshots the exact figures at submission and binds every decision to a cryptographic hash. Change the item after submission and the approval is automatically voided — there is no silent editing of numbers that have already been signed off.

External approvers

Send a secure link to a client, QS or architect. They approve or reject straight from email — with the document attached — without needing a TerraVo login, and their decision is captured in the same tamper-evident record as internal approvals.

SLA escalation & break-glass

Overdue approvals surface automatically and escalate up the chain. Genuine emergencies use an admin break-glass override that is logged, flagged and alerted org-wide, so speed never comes at the cost of a silent bypass.

Visual who-can-do-what chart

A role matrix that is machine-verified against the software's own enforcement — so what you see on screen is exactly what the system actually does. No drift between documented policy and real behaviour.

Why it matters

Stops self-approval and after-the-fact edits on money — the controls auditors and lenders ask for, built into everyday workflow.
